Arabic homework help for parents in Dubai and the UAE

ساعد طفلك في واجب العربية

Take a photo of your child's Arabic worksheet. Harf explains what it asks in your language and reads every Arabic word aloud. You don't need to read a single letter.

  • Grades 1 to 4
  • UAE private schools
  • English, Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Tagalog and French

Words are a start. Harf explains the exercise.

On the worksheet: ضع الحركة المناسبة للحرف الذي تحته خط. A word-for-word translation says "Put the appropriate movement for the letter under which a line". Harf explains: add the right vowel mark to each underlined letter, and which mark goes where, and why: kasra, sukun, fatha and damma.

Tonight at 7:30.

7:30 pm: the Arabic homework comes out. You can't read the instruction, and your child is already tired. 7:31 pm: you take a photo of the worksheet with Harf. 7:34 pm: you know what the exercise asks, you've both heard every word, and you're helping.

Explained in the language you think in.

Built for Arabic as taught to non-native speakers in UAE private schools, starting with Grades 1 to 4.

A note from the founder

Hi, I'm Marc. I'm building Harf because too many parents in the UAE sit next to their child at 7:30 pm with an Arabic worksheet that nobody at home can read. Harf is early. I'm building it together with the first families who join.

Questions parents ask

Do I need to know any Arabic?

No. Everything is explained in your language, and every Arabic word can be played aloud so you and your child hear how it sounds.

How is this different from Google Translate or ChatGPT?

General AI tools can also explain Arabic. Harf is being designed around one job: helping a parent work through their child's homework, with the instruction, Arabic audio, the rule behind it, and practice in one place. It should also tell you when a question depends on something said in class.

Is it accurate?

Explanations are written by AI, which can make mistakes. Harf is being built to tell you when a photo is unclear instead of guessing, and you can always check anything important with your child's teacher.

Which grades and schools does it work for?

It's built for Arabic as taught to non-native speakers in UAE private schools, starting with Grades 1 to 4. Older grades come next.

What about my child's privacy?

Photos are used only to explain the homework. Please crop out names and faces before you take the photo.
